Yeah, so, Barack basically threatened war with Iran in the #SOTU last night, right? I’m thinking mass anti-war mobilization needs to get running. Now. Glad I’m in Oaktown where some real shit is happening with all that.
I like this idea. I feel Gainesville SDS should have another anti-war rally sometime soon.
the anti-war demonstrations just before we invaded iraq were awe-inspiring, but ineffective. but we all should know by now that fighting the power and doing social activism is clearly not focused on only doing something if it will work. it’s about doing anything and everything, and trying our hardest. I think you’re an undergrad right now, yeah? I’m just thinking that I was in h.s. when the Iraq war began, and I didn’t have the experience or education to really comprehend what my country was getting into. Now, though, I know that I must use whatever skills and talents I have to not let my country use it’s all mighty arrogant resources to travel across the world and start a violent fight that will ruin the lives of people who will never, ever deserve to be invaded, occupied, blown up, attacked, fired at. No fucking one deserves that. War is pure evil. And having met and knowing people firing and being fired at— shit— humanity needs to check itself.

I am a twentysomething discoverer who is actively against oppressive power, coffee, and open-water cruises. I am quite fond of freedom for all, elephants, honeybees, and cities. I believe music is a term that denotes pleasurable energy with more potential than we can imagine.
